Laugh, dream, sing, win, love. These are just some of the verbs that have always represented Monte Rossa’s philosophy. They come together to conquer, travel, enjoy, discover and be born, on the capsules of the winery’s Franciacorta wines, the first point of contact with those who choose to toast with Monte Rossa. Over the years the capsules, often together with the iconic cork, have become amulets that remind those who keep or collect them of the magical ritual of the toast that accompanies the happiest moments.
Monte Rossa’s history is filled with them from the very beginning, when Paola Rovetta and her husband Paolo Rabotti arrived in Franciacorta, dreamers and pioneers of a story that their family is still writing.
It was 1972 when they moved to Monte Rossa, to the historic villa on the top of the hill overlooking Bornato, and Ms. Paola with tenacity began to produce Franciacorta understood as Metodo Classico, passing on her great passion to the whole family. Only a few years passed, Paolo Rabotti in 1978 already had clear definitions of what at the time was only a vision: “I am, if we are” was the incipit of the Franciacorta system. A concept that became reality in 1990 with the creation of the Consorzio Franciacorta, of which Paolo Rabotti was elected as the first president. In the meantime, his son Emanuele, the second generation and today the owner of the winery, takes his first steps in Monte Rossa. From his parents he has inherited tenacity and passion, added to which is his great flair, which has consolidated Monte Rossa as a brand ambassador of positivity, fun and pleasure.

THE BEGINNING
The tribute to Signora Paola, as everyone knows her, is the original steel vat in which, with the luck of the beginner and the audacity of someone who undertakes every challenge with passion, she vinified the first bottles of her Franciacorta. The cask is positioned in the middle of a vineyard that, according to the wishes of the owner, traces the history of the forms of cultivation, from the pergola systems of the origins to the spurred cordon in use today.

THE VISION
Turning our gaze towards the entrance of the winery, a bold horseman riding an iconic bottle points out the hills of Franciacorta, fearless and determined. A statue created by painter and sculptor Armando Riva that is intended as a tribute to Paolo Rabotti, the creator of the Franciacorta system and first president of the Consortium.

THE FUTURE
The new Wine Cellar was born from an idea of Emanuele Rabotti: an ambitious project that started from a blank sheet of paper, from his long experience in the production of Franciacorta and from his firm intention of not compromising on the quality of life of those who work every day in the various spaces of the cellar. With these premises, in 2020 work began on the new Monte Rossa site, an investment of more than 10 million euro for a total surface area of more than 8,000 m2.
The Cantina is built on 3 levels, connected by an iconic central staircase: on the lowest level are concentrated all production activities, on the middle level are the management and operational offices, and on the upper level are the hospitality area and the shop. It is an underground, avant-garde, eco-friendly and eco-sustainable winery, entirely conceived and designed for the production of Franciacorta that dialogues with the surrounding territory; it is located in Barco di Cazzago San Martino and enjoys a strategic position, just 900 metres from the Ospitaletto highway exit and a few kilometres from the historic Bornato site, also in the municipality of Cazzago San Martino.
FIFTY TIMES MONTE ROSSA
Long-time collaborators and new generations work daily side by side with enthusiasm and dedication to the cultivation, production and promotion of a range of sought-after, appreciated and award-winning Franciacorta wines; Monte Rossa’s current references are Prima Cuvée, Flamingo, Sansevé, Coupé, Salvàdek and P.R. Brut.
A special tribute for the Winery’s first 50 years involves the latter, P.R. Brut: a historic reference already named after the founders Paola Rovetta and Paolo Rabotti, the celebrated Brut Blanc de Blancs is embellished for the occasion with a commemorative stamp that recalls the date of its foundation and that of its 50th year of activity.
